Have you ever thought, “There must be more to life than this?” Or, “stop the world I want to get off – it’s in such a mess!” Or, “life’s a pain and then you die!” Well you’re not alone.

Have you ever wondered,” Is there any meaning to life?”

Have you ever asked, “If there really is a God, where is He when I’m hurting or need He most”?
Or “Why doesn’t He stop all these problems and disasters from happening?”
Or “Who is this Jesus guy? Who needs Him anyway”? “How on earth could a man, who lived and died 2,000 years ago and claimed to be God, have any relevance to me today?”
Well, you’re not alone!

Here’s another good question for you to ponder over “If God did exist what would you ask?”

Have you ever felt that Christianity is boring, irrelevant and untrue? You’re still not alone; many others have, and still do. Here are some comments from people just like you, living not far away, maybe next door, who once were in that number before attending an Alpha Course.

1. “Alpha answered many questions for me and gave me the chance to talk things over in a friendly group. I had always hoped there was more to life: Alpha was my route to finding out that there really is”.

Rowan Hardy.

2 .“ When I met Jesus I remember the relief I felt, Knowing I didn’t have to do life on my own……..Alpha was there to practically answer all the questions I then had, while socialising and eating great food…..I loved it!” Hannah White.

3. “What I learned on the Alpha course was great. Christianity is true. And my life continues to be changed …. For the better!”
Jarrod Waring.

They seem too good to be true! They’re very true. These same people still have questions, but see things so much differently now.

The Alpha Course endeavours to provide a friendly, non threatening atmosphere in which to explore Christianity as it was always intended to be. It gives the opportunity to ask any questions you might have (about Christianity) however challenging or silly you think they might be. Eating supper and being together with others asking similar questions has often proved to be fun. Many new friendships have been formed at Alpha courses.

Marshfield churches together will be running an Alpha course in the autumn term and will “Kick Off” with a candlelit supper and a short film presentation, “Christianity, Boring, Irrelevant and untrue”, in Marshfield School at 7.00 pm on Wed. 10th Sept. The evening will finish by 9.30pm.

Why not come and join us for a free supper, including a vegetarian alternative, and see if you think, like those who commented above, the Alpha course might interest you.

For catering purposes it would be helpful, but not essential, if you were able to ring Jane Christie on 891951, who will also be able to help you should you wish to come but finding a babysitter proves to be difficult. We have a number of willing volunteers should the need arise.

Keep a look out for posters nearer the time in the usual places.
We look forward to seeing you after the holidays.
