Equipping God’s People
Equipping God’s People is a training scheme run jointly by the Bristol
Diocese and the Methodist District and offers the opportunity to learn
practical skills alongside more theoretical theological study. Although
primarily aimed at those who would like to be Lay Ministers (Readers) or
Methodist Local Preachers, it is also suitable for those who would like
to explore their vocation in more depth or who want to serve their local
church as Small Group Leaders, Worship Leaders, occasional preachers or
in other ministries. It is also suitable as pre-theological study for
those wanting to explore SSM or Stipendiary ministry. The course is best
described as assisted distance learning with study done at home and with
bi-weekly
tutorial groups to apply what is being learnt.
The course begins in early October and those starting in October 2008
will finish their training in December 2010. The closing date for
registering for EGP this year will be August 22nd.
