Help! Sound Assistants for Services

The sound system has gradually become an essential element of our church services. Nobody notices it until it sounds wrong and then the complaints start! Ninety-nine percent of its success lies in setting it up well and for this we desperately need volunteers. It is an easy job but it does need a little understand and some dedication since the microphones and mixer need setting up and testing before services. Manning the mixer during services is a job more easily covered and a rota of operators would be very welcome. If prepared to help, please contact Chris Hart (891453 hart.cjc@gmail.com)

Cold Ashton

28th February - Coffee Time at Cold Ashton, Parish Hall, 10.30 - 12 noon.

Services at Cold Ashton.

A few words to explain a little about the pattern and form that our services will take at Holy Trinity Church for the near future.

1st Sunday of the Month:

9.00 am Holy Communion, taken from Common Worship. This service is an updated and more modern version of Communion with modern wording and Readings, and can also include newer Hymns or songs. It will always be taken by a member of the Clergy.

2nd Sunday of the Month:

6.00pm Evensong 1662 from The Book of Common Prayer. This is a traditional

evening service of prayer, traditional Hymns and readings taken from The King James Bible. Every other month we are joined by Marshfield Choir for Choral Evensong, the following month we join them. Whether taken by Clergy or Lay Ministers this service remains traditional.

3rd Sunday of the Month:

9.00am Holy Communion, is taken from The Book of Common Prayer. This is an older and more traditional worded version of Communion, with normally the older Hymns sung. The readings can be taken from whichever Bible the reader chooses, but is usually  from the New International Version Bible.

This service is again always taken by a member of the Clergy.

4th Sunday of the Month:

6.00pm Evening Praise. This service can be a mixture of traditional and modern, whoever is taking the service is given a free hand to engage and surprise us with whatever they choose in the way of Hymns, newer songs, prayers and style of sermon. Readings are taken from the easier to understand New International Bible. This service can be taken by either Clergy or lay Ministers.

5th Sunday Services:

These are normally Benefice services, and can be in any of the 4 Parish Churches. The type and form decided by the church in question, and can be taken by both Clergy and lay Ministers.

Whichever service you find more appealing you can be sure of a warm welcome at Cold Ashton. Monica Green & Jean Purnell  Churchwardens.
