Our Archdeacon, Alan Hawker,
will be retiring on 31st October 2010. As
Archdeacon of Malmesbury for
over 12 years Alan has been responsible for
overseeing this benefice on
behalf of the diocese and is well known to many of
us. There will be a special
farewell service for Alan and Jen (his wife) at Bristol
Cathedral on Saturday 2nd
October at 3:30pm. The service will be followed by
afternoon tea, speeches and a
presentation.
That service is open to anyone
who would like to attend and wish Alan and
Jen a fond farewell. However
to assist with catering arrangements the diocese
wish to have an idea of
numbers and have asked if people can let them know
by 15th September if they wish
