The Lifeline Centre, which is in the middle of Bath is open 2-4 pm Monday - Friday and gives advice and support to about 30 people per day. The people that visit the centre are all unemployed, about 60% have substance abuse issues, 50% have mental health problems, about 40% are ex services, about 60% are homeless and about 30% are ex offenders. The Lifeline Centre offers somewhere safe off the streets, which is warm and dry at a time that the other day centre in Bath (operated by Julian House) is closed.

On an average winter day the Lifeline Centre is visited by between 30 and 52 people, on an average summer day between 18 and 30 people and in an average week they give out 4-6 sleeping bags, 4 parcels of food, and 3 pairs of boots.

Boots Needed

The Lifeline Centre desperately needs sleeping bags, men’s boots and socks, T shirts, jeans, deodorants, jackets and tents. If you can help please ring 01225 463549 or deliver them directly to the Genesis Trust, Unit 4, Riverside Business Park, Lower Bristol Road, BATH, BA2 3DW

Charity Shop

We are delighted to announce that the first Genesis Charity Shop will be opening in Weston in the middle of August. It will be in the row of shops at the top of the High Street, next to Bath Bakery. If you have things to donate, then please watch out for when there are people in the shop doing the fit out and take it in. Alternatively give us a ring on 01225 463549. We need lots of fantastic stuff in order to make it a great opening. There will also be opportunities to volunteer.

Harvest Festivals

It is that time of year again, our food cupboard is empty and we would be delighted with any donations of food from harvest festivals.

You have been very supportive in the past and all food given to Genesis gets passed on to our clients. We give out about fifteen bags of food a week or 540 cans a month!!! and about 100 food parcels at Christmas. So any donation of non-perishable goods will be extremely useful and the recipients will be delighted with the food. You can drop food off to the Furniture Project, 31A West Avenue, Bath, BA2 3QB),

Please ensure they have at least 6 months shelf life.

Run the Nationwide Bath Half Marathon on March 16th 2008.
