Events
Confirmations – Autumn 2008:
There will be a confirmation service on Friday 7th November (7:30pm)
with the Bishop of Bristol within our deanery, venue to be agreed. We
have some people who are already interested in being confirmed on that
day. If you are not confirmed and would like to think about it please do
speak to Revd Simon Drew.
Revd Paul Bayes – National Mission and Evangelism Advisor:
The Revd Paul Bayes (who works for the Archbishop’s Council) will be
speaking to Chippenham Deanery Synod on Wednesday 29th October at
Biddestone Village Hall (7:00 for 7:30pm). He is an excellent speaker
and we are very fortunate to have been able to book him for this event,
which is open to all. We will also hear from a couple of churches on
‘Back to Church Sunday 2008’. This meeting launches the Deanery Mission
programme and there will be further meetings in 2009 with a view to
encouraging all churches in the Deanery to use '‘Back to Church Sunday
2009’ as part of their outreach.
‘Anymen 4 Skittles’: Wednesday 15th October:
On Wednesday 15th October there will be a men’s skittles evening in
Marshfield Church Hall beginning at 8pm. The evening will simply be an
opportunity for men linked to the churches of our benefice to have fun
together without the usual business/pressures of church meetings. All
men welcome - ability and experience are not required! We hope this
event may become a more regular feature in coming months. Entry will be
free and ‘suitable’ refreshments will be provided on a donations basis.
For further details contact Simon Drew (891850)

Time Apart:
TIME APART for this month is at St Mary Magdalene, Tormarton on Thursday
16th October at 7.30 p.m. Anyone from any of the four parishes is
welcome to join us for a short evening service. It’s particularly for
those who find it difficult to fit in Sunday services with a hectic
family life and it offers a time of quiet with some music – a time for
prayer and reflection and spiritual refreshment.
