Fun time on Blackpool Pier
A group of Marshfield women underwent a transformation as they sped up
the motorway to Preston to attend an A.G.M for the Mothers' Union. There
was a gathering of 2000 women from far and wide (4million worldwide
membership). The Archbishop of York's wife gave a very humorous and
inspiring talk about her Role as a wife of a church dignatory and the
role of women both here and abroad. Many other topics concerning the
Family Today were discussed.
During our 4 day stay, we visited Blackburn Cathedral where we
celebrated the work of the Mothers' Union. It was an awesome experience
when all those women burst into song. Another day we went to Windermere
and then a trip down Blackpool Pier. Great fun was had by the Marshfield
"Ladies" as they threw Darts and won Good,Luck headbands for the England
team, all to no avail, but worthy of a photo.
