Christian Aid - Count Your Blessings, Lent 2006

Lent is upon us once again. St Mary's Church would like to invite you to take part in Christian Aid's 'Count Your Blessings' Lent scheme. The enclosed sheet provides you with a daily fact about the world we live in to prompt your thoughts and prayers, and a suggested small financial response as you count your own blessings.

The idea is that you keep an account of each day's contribution for the duration of Lent. Then if you are willing return your donation in the form of a cheque. Details are given on the back of the leaflet. You can either send your donation direct to Christian Aid or return it to us. We will provide two boxes for depositing donations during the weeks after Easter; one in Artingstall's Butchers and the other at the back of St Mary's Church. All donations collected will be forwarded directly to Christian Aid.

Please note that we have decided that this initiative will replace our usual envelope collection for Christian Aid Week in May.

May I encourage you therefore to have a go, count your blessings, be educated about your world and support the work of Christian Aid in some of the poorest places on this planet.
