Heating
Problems at St Mary’s Church Marshfield

A short note to
the congregation of St. Mary’s to apologise for the heating problems
experienced during recent weeks. The reason is that last November the
fuel supplier delivered kerosene instead of oil to top up the fuel tank.
Although the supplier removed most of offending kerosene & replaced it
with the correct oil there was still some contamination at the bottom of
the tank. The outcome is that the boiler is not working reliably & is
susceptible to cut-outs. Heating engineers have tried fixing the problem
but it's likely to persist until the tank becomes empty & is refilled.
Hopefully we will have a warm church before the snow departs & a
‘baking’ summer arrives. An update will be provided next month.
