BRISTOL UGANDA LINK 1969 -2010

UGANDA BRISTOL LINK (bristol-uganda.co.uk)

The Uganda Link between Chippenham and Mukono is alive and kicking! Following the successful visit of three people to Mukono for their 25th Anniversary Celebration in December, we have now invited eight Ugandans to come to Chippenham from 19th March to 8th April – last two weeks of Lent and Easter week. This gives us great opportunities for sharing with them in prayer and worship and we hope parishes will grab the chance to spend some time with our visitors. We are now looking for people to offer hospitality, either for meals or accommodation. Whatever you can offer will be fitted into the programme if at all possible. We hope our visitors will be invited to schools, church services,

Holy Week meditations or services as well as enjoying our hospitality over the

three weeks. We will also want help with transport. Please contact me if you

can help in any way – aurea.hart@hoedowners.co.uk. or 01225 891453.

Lent Appeal in memory of Patrick Kyaligonza

Bishop Patrick with Bishop Mike.

This year’s Diocesan Lent Appeal is going to provide scholarships to train Ugandan clergy at the Uganda Christian University in memory of Bishop Patrick Kyaligonza who tragically died on Thursday 11 February, just under a year after his consecration as Bishop of Rwenzori Diocese. He was a wonderful example of a recent graduate of the university’s Theology School for Clergy. “In one short year, Bishop Patrick has released new energy, hope and life in Rwenzori Diocese,” said one of his colleagues. The Lent Appeal will sponsor Patrick Kyaligonza Scholarships.

Clovis KyalimpaUGU does a fantastic job of preparing clergy for mission and

ministry in our Link province of the Church of Uganda as well as helping them

develop throughout their ministry. It costs just Ł500 to train a clergy person for a

year.

If you would like to make a donation please send a cheque to “Bristol Diocesan

Board of Finance” (or “Bristol DBF”) to Lent Appeal, Diocese of Bristol, 23 Great

George Street, Bristol, BS1 5QZ.
